Sweet, beautiful, young Cleopatra passed away and crossed the Rainbow Bridge early Monday morning 9/14/26.
Cleopatra and her brother Julius were rescued with their mom Lilith last Fall from an auto shop in Graham, NC. She was the last to be trapped a few days after mom and brother. She was such a feisty little baby at first but she melted with lots of love from her foster family who took her and Julius in. Mom Lilith still stays at the clinic and enjoys her life there while waiting to be adopted. Julius was adopted last year.
Sparkle Cat Rescue would like to thank Amy and Jack and kids for all the love and attention they gave to Cleo. They also stepped up to treat her for FIP and toxoplasmosis she was suspected of having when she first saw a vet for illness August 12. She was receiving treatment for both, even though her toxo test cane back negative. Ultimately it was the FIP she succumbed to (per the necropsy). It had progressed to neurological symptoms. Everything possible was done to save her. Treatment had been started immediately back in August.
Her fosters wrote up a lovely note to share: “Today we remember Cleo, our foster girl with the biggest purr in the world. She chirped when you picked her up, loved a little bit of cheese, and spent her happiest moments snuggled with our other cats. She wore her little white bikini, marking slowly outgrowing it, but never losing her charm. And even though we all adore her, she only truly “talked” to her foster dad - they had their own quiet language just for them. Cleo left us loved, safe and truly cared for. Her purr will always echo in our home.”
