In Loving Memory of Elle Maye Barber
With heavy hearts, but immense gratitude for the gift of her life, we share that our beloved
Elle Maye passed peacefully on February 23rd 2026 at nearly 16 years old.
From the very beginning, she was more than a pet — she was heaven-sent. I truly believe
God placed Elle in my life with purpose, knowing the comfort, strength, and steady love she
would one day provide.
Through some of my hardest seasons and toughest heartbreaks — she was there. She sat
with me in grief, laid beside me in silence, and offered the kind of comfort only a loyal dog
can give. She didn’t need words. Her presence was enough. She carried pieces of my
sorrow and helped me stand again.
She also stood beside me in joy — as we welcomed our beautiful children into this world
and proudly serving as our “flower girl” on our wedding day, a role she took as seriously as
she took guarding the front door. No knock or doorbell ever went unnoticed under her
watch. Small but mighty, she was our devoted protector, always ready to announce visitors
with great enthusiasm.
For nearly sixteen years, she filled our home with unconditional love, gentle
companionship, and unwavering loyalty. She followed me from room to room, keeping
watch not just over our house, but over my heart.
As she aged and her world grew more confusing, her sweet spirit never faded. Even in her
hardest days, she still found comfort in being close. And I will forever be grateful that I got
to be her safe place, just as she was mine.
There are not enough words to thank her for all she did for me. The love she gave shaped
me. The comfort she provided carried me. I believe with all my heart that she fulfilled the
purpose God gave her — and she fulfilled it beautifully.
Though our hearts ache beyond measure, we rest in knowing she is whole and at peace.
Run free, my sweet girl. Thank you for everything. You were a gift. You always will be.
