Skipper went to join his mom Becky Sunday morning. He brought so much joy, support, love, and laughter to all who were lucky to meet him. There were wonderful trips to the beach and Florida. He was the best traveler and co-pilot. He had a tremendous energy and thought his five pounds could take on the biggest of creatures in his role as protector.
Skipper blessed our family December 25, 2010 as a Christmas puppy for Becky. She adored him and everyone made way for his presence. He even wormed his way into Becky’s sister Rosalie’s heart, who perked up her step for him.
He was Becky’s constant companion and kept vigilant watch over her after a stroke. A year later, Becky told her daughter Lynne that she wasn’t going to live long and take care of Skipper. The following day, Becky suffered another stroke and then passed. This statement strengthened Lynne’s faith. Skipper and Lynne held each other together through this grief and healed. He was the family Lynne needed.
With his passing, that remaining connection to Becky seems lost. Lynne took him to see Becky’s grave one last time. He is now in his mother’s arms in heaven. Lynne was blessed to have this fur baby with the spunk and attitude of his mom. She is so grateful to have been his second mommy. Rest well Skipper and take care of Mom. Look forward to seeing you both in heaven one day and doing the zoomies as you always did upon arriving in Florida.
